London and Moscow: A passenger plane that transported dozens of people was reported as disappeared on Thursday morning in the region of the East of Amur in Russia, said the local governor.
The Russian news agency reported that the remains of the plane had been found about nine miles from its destination planned in the city of Tynda, having traveled from the Blagoveshchensk Regional Center about 360 miles away.
Governor Vasily Orlov said in a telegram post that the AN-24 plane was transporting 43 passengers and six crew when it disappeared from the radar. Five children were among the passengers, he said.

“According to the operational services, today, the AN-24 passenger plane, which flew from BlagoveShchensk to Tynda, disappeared from the radar,” he published. “All the necessary forces and resources are being implemented to look for the plane.”
Artem Korenyako, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Agency of Russia, Rosaviatsiya, wrote on Telegram that a search and rescue helicopter “discovered a burning fuselage.” He added: “Rescuers go to the scene.”
The Ministry of Emergency situations of Russia also reported the discovery of burning remains in a telegram position.
More than 50 people and 10 teams were deployed in the search and rescue efforts, the ministry said.
