The music supervisor and husband of 'American Idol' found dead shots in the house of Los Angeles, suspected arrested

A suspect has been arrested for the murder of a music supervisor “American idol” and her husband composer, police said in Los Angeles on Tuesday, even when many questions about the murders remain unanswered.

The victims, Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, both 70 years old, were shot at their home in Los Angeles during a social assistance check on Monday, authorities said.

The suspect, Raymond Boodarian, 22, was arrested at home on Tuesday, Lapd Guy Golan lieutenant said Tuesday. He said that Boodarian had climbed a fence on the property and was inside when the victims came home and then shot them and killed them during a “violent fight.”

It is believed that the couple was killed on July 10, when the Los Angeles Police Department received two calls on a possible robbery in the direction in Encino after a person was seen jumping the fence on the property.

The officers who responded to the calls that day could not go to the house because it is very fortified, with 8 -foot walls with peaks, police sources said previously. The police flew a helicopter and did not see signs of one theft or any other problem and left, said the official.

However, the surveillance images later reviewed by the police showed the suspect to climb the fence and then apparently entering an unlocked door, Golan said. The victims arrived home about 30 minutes later, he said.

Two found death inside Encino’s house after LAPD performs a social assistance check, on July 15, 2025.

A friend of the victims called the police on Monday for a social assistance check, Golan said. The officers who responded saw blood on the porch and broke a window to enter where they found the victims with multiple gunshot wounds. Both had gunshot wounds, police said before.

The reason is still clear, Golan said. He said the house did not seem to be looted.

“We are investigating multiple ways on what the reason can be,” he said.

The police do not believe that Boodian knows the victims and said that Boodarian is not suspicious in any other robbery, police sources said previously.

There are no images of the camera from inside the house that shows what happened, said the lieutenant.

The LAPD will analyze how the police responded to the initial robbery call last week to make sure it was properly handled, he said.

Kaye had been with the television program “American Idol” since 2009, according to a spokesman for the ABC Singing Competition series.

“We are devastated when listening to Robin and his beloved husband, Tom’s, passing,” said the spokesman in a statement. “Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was really loved and respected by all those who came into contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and share our deepest sympathy with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
