Manhunt running after a shot of an officer, critically injured in Northern Georgia

According to officials, a human hunt is underway in Georgia after a suspect shot an officer on Friday night.

Police said they are looking for Timothy Craig Ramsey, 26, who allegedly shot the McCaysville police captain, Brantley Worley.

“Marty, the girls and I are asking all the Georgians to join us to pray for this officer who was shot in the fulfillment of duty, as well as all the forces of the order that face this type of danger regularly to protect their communities,” said the governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, in a statement on Saturday.

Police describe Ramsey as a white man, 5 feet and 11 inches that weighs around 185 pounds and has a long brown hair and blue eyes.

The officials responsible for enforcing the law are on the scene after McCAsville Police captain Brantley Worley was shot on September 12, 2025.

“Ramsey is considered armed and dangerous. If you see or see any suspicious activity, take immediate precautions and notify 911. If you have any information about the whereabouts of this dangerous suspicious, communicate with the 911 or the Georgia Research Office by calling 1-800-597-Tips (8477),” said the Georgia Research Office in a statement.
