Alec Baldwin crashes car into tree in East Hampton: Authorities

Alec Baldwin He crashed his car into a tree while driving in East Hampton on Monday, according to authorities.

The front of his truck was dented, but Baldwin was unharmed, authorities added. His brother, fellow actor Stephen Baldwin, was also in the car at the time and was unharmed.

Alec Baldwin took instagram after the accident and briefly addressed what happened.

“I just want to post a quick message,” he began. “I got all these questions about my car this morning. I was in a car accident this morning. I’m fine.”

“My brother Stephen was away visiting me,” she added, saying they spent the weekend at the Hamptons International Film Festival.

He said a “whale-sized garbage truck” blocked his path on the highway.

“To avoid hitting him, I crashed into a tree,” he said. “I hit a big, fat tree. And I crushed my car, my wife’s car. I crashed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that. But everything is fine, I’m fine and my brother is fine.”

He ended his message by thanking the East Hampton Police Department for “coming to my aid.” Baldwin said he also submitted a report to them.

“My wife’s car is pretty totaled,” he said. “Quite a big tree, a big fat tree.”

He added that he was going to Los Angeles to see his family and “I can’t wait.” He also mentioned that he is “still very proud” of his wife. Hilaria Baldwin.

“Hilaria, I love you more than anything,” he said. “I’m very proud of you.”

The East Hampton Town Police Department said in a statement Tuesday that it responded to the crash shortly after noon Monday.

“A white 2023 Range Rover, operated by Alec Baldwin, with passenger Stephen Baldwin, was found to have struck a tree on the shoulder of the eastbound highway while avoiding the turn of a 2020 Mack commercial truck, registered to National Waste Services in Bay Shore, New York,” the statement read.

The police statement noted that there were no injuries or citation issues related to the crash and that “contributing factors to the crash were found to be a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and slippery, wet road conditions.”
