A $1.1 billion Powerball jackpot could give someone plenty of money to spend just 10 days before Christmas.
The total would be the sixth biggest prize in the game’s history and the 12th in U.S. lottery history, including Mega Millions. The drawing will be just before 11 pm ET on Monday.
While the annual payment is worth $1.1 billion, the global payment would be $503.4 million, both before taxes.
The largest Powerball prize, or any lottery, ever was $2.04 billion won with a single ticket in California on November 7, 2022.
There have only been 13 lottery jackpots in U.S. history of more than $1 billion. Ten of them have come since 2021.
No one has won the Powerball prize since September 6, when a pair of tickets in Missouri and Texas took home a $1.787 million prize. There have been 42 consecutive draws without winning.

The numbers drawn on Saturday, when the jackpot had exceeded one billion dollars, were: 1, 28, 31, 57 and 58 with a Powerball of 16.
While no one won the grand prize, two winners in Pennsylvania and North Carolina took home $2 million each, and five winners redeemed their tickets for $1 million each.
But if you have the money for a little pocket change during the holidays, you might want a backup plan. The odds of winning the jackpot are only 1 in 292.2 million.
