A man with body armor and with a high -power rifle shot and killed four people, including a police officer out of service that worked in an office building in the center of Manhattan, sources told ABC News.

The incident occurred just before 6:30 pm on Monday in a building located in 345 Park Ave. and 52nd Street, the sources said, which contain the headquarters of the Blackstone investment company and the National Football League, Fuentes said.

It is not clear if those companies, or some company in the building, were linked to the shooting.

After apparently locked on the 33rd floor, the suspect was found dead so it is believed to be a self -inflicted gunshot wound, the sources added.
